mudsplatratingAlways a great event. Our team have attended all mud runs since inception, and the mud levels the Tas Mud Run deliver are second to none. Has a good mix of obstacles and well spaced apart. In some areas at speed, the course direction evades me but officials on hand immediately cleared this matter unlike other races I've done. Our team really enjoy the course as it suits all levels of fitness, and Tas Mud Run continue to improve each event. See you at the next one!

mudsplatratingI would just like to say, that the team at Tasmudrun, take all feedback on board and this Aprils was their best yet! Great obstacles, fantastic volunteers and awesome course. It was different from the past two and some of the big boys could take a leaf out of their book.

Definitely get a team together and come to September as you will not regret it

Official Race Report

mudsplatratingFeedback was taken well from the first event that was held in the year and it was a great improvement. The overnight rain gave it an extra boost making the mud nice and muddy the entire way around.

All obstacles were good and some you don't see anywhere else such as the reeds in the little dam.

There is potential to use more of the area and make it even better for next time also.

A good day all around.

mudsplatratingWas my first Mud Run and I thought it was awesome. I found it perfect for my skill and fitness level. It was a real challenge for me, i'm feeling it today but i'd do it again in a heartbeat.
There was plenty of mud & slush and the rain topped it off.
I thought the lay out was great, the hills were a killer and the marshalls all did a fab job... Well Done :-D

mudsplatratingAwesome event!!! My first muddy run and I had an absolute blast. Would have loved to have a few more laps. The frequency of the obstacles was good but could definitely have been harder and muddier!

Next time I would say have better changeroom and shower facilities, louder music and a bit more of an official finish - we crossed the line and it was a bit of a non-event!

Big thumbs up overall :D can't wait for more!

mudsplatratingWhat a huge improvement! This race was much more challenging. Obstacles were better, the course, while almost the same was made more challenging with endless mud.

Being able to do as many laps as you want is a huge drawcard, I was glad you could just keep going around regardless of whether a new wave was starting or not so as not to lose momentum.

Atmosphere was great. Big thank you to all the volunteers offering support around the course.

I really enjoyed this race.

mudsplatratingThis was the first time I had participated in anything like the mud run, was fantastic. Looking forward to the next one.

mudsplatratingI loved it! Did the last one and this run was a huge improvement! The extra rain made the running between the obstacles an added challenge. The carrying tyre obstacle needed more supervision as the pile of tyres moved down the hill as the day progressed.

I would like to see some "rope obstacles", climbing, swinging etc. Perhaps another sausage sizzle....I was way too cold to line up for 15 minutes for a sausage....and believe me I had been dreaming about the hot food for the last 15 minutes of the race!!!

I am 57, mod fitness level and I found it challenging...but I did it!!!!

Thankyou to all involved.....I am hooked and will be back again!!!

mudsplatratingWow what a great event ! We got away on time , the course was challenging , the mud was plenty!!!! & beer was a treat at the end! The only comment to improve was from my hubby who said maybe a few spectator points would be good. Looking forward to the next one !

mudsplatratingThe location is fantastic. It's a lovely setting. They definitely took on concerns from the previous event at the start of the year which is appreciated. The rain actually wasn't a concern either. It was great fun. My elbows are incredibly cut up though which I was disappointed about, I thought they might fix the issue of rocks in the mud pits after so many complaints from last times finish line.

My main complaints are the line ups. I had wanted to beat my time from the previous event but found myself getting stuck behind big groups of people throughout the whole course. The worst being the river bank at the very end of the course. I waited in line 15 minutes only to give up and go around because there were still another 15 people in front of me and about 40 people backed up behind me. Because girls were trying over and over and just sliding back down the bank.

I didn't mind so much with the showers cause you really don't expect to get clean, however there needed to be more change rooms.

Thoroughly loved the sausage and chocolate milk after. I wish there were more photographers present throughout the course.

mudsplatratingWhat a day! my friends and I had a blast, much tougher than we had thought but so many laughs along the way!

The event was run really well - thanks to everyone who helped organise!

mudsplatratingSuch a great fun filled day! Will be doing it every year now!

mudsplatratingFirst time I have done anything like this, was a great day, wet muddy and lots of fun.  Obstacles were great, some were easy and other hard so a great mix up which was great for beginners.  VERY muddy with rain on and off all morning, lost shoes very early in so did it all in bare feet and suffering a bit from it today but all in good fun!

mudsplatratingWell this one was definitely better then the one at the beginning of the year. They definitely took on all the feedback and created an awesome race. The rain from this week made the course muddy and sticky and extra obstacles were great.  This is a fantastic race and being able to do extra laps is a great incentive as well.

APR 2013

mudsplatratingIt was a fun day. Really enjoyed being able to do as many laps as you wanted.
The runs were very challenging, lots of hills. Liked the part where the sheep escaped and came running across the field. Dont think that was an intended obstacle though!

The obstacles were a little bit easy and not the most well made things. More variety needed and definately more challenging, bit more effort put into the construction of the obstacles needed.

While I know it is cheap compared to some races, for what it was I thought it was a bit expensive.

Didnt mind only having taps to wash off. No one truely expects to get completely clean before they get home do they?

Free sausage after the event was very much appreciated.

Overall, it was a good event for its first time. Can only get better from here.

mudsplatratingHaving done Tough Bloke Challenge and Warrior Dash in the past month this course was heaps better than them both.

It was well thought out, had plenty of mud and not man made mud, thick sticky, clay-ish mud not unlike the stuff at Tough Mudder on Philip Island.

It had water obstacles, climbing obstacles and plenty of crawling which my cut knees can attest to.

A big part of the challenge was the hilly course and cold Tassie April water temperature, not just the mud itself ...  and given how cheap it was I think it was a fantastic first up event.

Victorian organisers take note, no matter how well organised the car parking and food stalls are, it's the mud and obstacles that will keep us coming back, so focus on that and the not the logistics!

A suggestion would be to sort out more toilets and a shower block (or at least some warm water to keep hypothermia at bay), and my last suggestion would be to add to the 5 km and 1km events an 8km event that includes some rope or monkey bar challenges (like the ring the bell challenge at Spartan) to challenge those of us who want the full experience. But don't simply add more running and more mud, mix it up a bit, with genuine physical challenges.

Overall a big thumbs up from me.

- Nathan S

mudsplatratingFrom an obstacle perspective, it was pitched at exactly the right level for beginners- they were not too difficult, but some did require assistance if it you were first timers. They were also well spaced, so it did not feel like a country run with a few obstacles, as others in the past felt like.

The scenery is also beautiful up there, and the mud is more of a black, thick tar substance.

The organisers went to great efforts to create a good inclusive atmosphere. My first timer friend had a great time too.

The only negative was a lack of shower facilities and limited toilets- If you want a good day out then I recommend you do this one

mudsplatratingWell we were all amped and excited for the Tasmudrun with my friend and my family including my 5yr old daughter who joined us in the 5km and then also did the Kids u/12 1km event!! Good on Isabelle! she did a wonderful job..our idea of her wearing a wetsuit on the day allowed her to finish relatively dry and nice and warm (keeping her happy..as she gets extremely cold when going through the creeks ect @burnie challenge).

Wonderful day..some ppl did it twice. We were in the first wave..could have made it harder and much more mud, so many opportunities..like the three or so sections they had ploughed and yet left them dry...we were left expecting these areas to be sprayed with water to make additional mud paths. Extra.mud definitly needed. Craving a 1metre or so mud slurry creek like we experienced @burnie challenge.

Kids mudrun was a tad disapointing as they did the same section..twice so there was only really four obstacles :(

Where was the band as mentioned above?? Needed a bit more revving up of the crowds and atmosphere. Yummy sausage sizzle and beer by Van diemans brewery, thankyou very much :)

Good day overall looking forward to Nugent in November :)

Overall need some harder obstacles and wayyy more mud pretty please.

- Katie C

mudsplatratingWas a wonderful day with my family and team mates.

The only reason I Gave it a 8 mud splat is because the obstacles were a little easy.

Still good lot of muddy fun though.
